Daily Activities

Caring for cows: A shelter of love.

A Glimpse of Daily Activities

Running a cow care center requires consistent effort and dedication to ensure the well-being of the cows. Here is a glimpse of some daily activities that we do at Raya Naik Memorial Gowshala:

Feeding & Watering

Provide cows with balanced and nutritious feed, including hay, grass, grains, and mineral supplements. The feeding schedule may involve multiple sessions throughout the day. The feed meets the specific nutritional needs of each cow, depending on their age and health. Also Ensuring that clean and fresh water is always available to the cows. Regularly clean and refill water troughs to maintain hygiene.

Cleaning and sanitation

Clean the cowsheds and pens daily to maintain a clean and hygienic environment. Remove manure, soiled bedding, and any waste materials from the cow area to prevent the spread of diseases by buildup of pathogens and flies.

Grooming

Regularly groom the cows by brushing their coats and cleaning their hooves. This helps in keeping their skin healthy and preventing skin issues.

Medical care

Monitor the health of the cows daily and promptly address any signs of illness or injury. Administer vaccinations, deworming treatments, and any necessary medications as per the veterinarian's recommendations. On-premise veterinarian to conduct health check-ups, diagnose any health issues, and provide appropriate medical care.

Exercise and grazing

Allow cows to graze in a safe and controlled environment by providing designated space for exercise and outdoor time. This is essential for their physical and mental well-being as cows are social animals and benefit from interaction with each other. We ensure they have enough space and opportunities to interact and form social bonds within the herd.
